Why does my SR-955HPC display say PC?

On an SR-955HPC (V1, V2, or HPC+), PC on the display means the radio is talking to the programming cable — or it got stuck that way after a Read/Write. It is not a fault code like SWR HI.

Confirm the generation first: Which 955 do I have?

If you are programming on purpose

1. That is normal while the USB cable is plugged in and the Stryker software is open.
2. Use the software file that matches your chassis. Wrong software is a common reason Read fails and the radio sits on PC. Start here: Programming the SR-955HPC — pick your model and Windows version.
3. Do not click Write until Read from Radio finishes cleanly (Version 1 does not use the Overflow zip).

If you are not trying to program

1. Unplug the USB cable from the radio and from the computer.
2. Power the radio off, wait a few seconds, power it back on.
3. The display should return to the channel / frequency screen.

If it stays on PC with no cable connected, try the manual reset. If it still will not leave PC, request an RMA at repairs.strykerradios.com.
