Hooking up radio to directly to the Battery

If you plan on running your power wire directly to the battery, you can extend the stock power cord using 10 gauge wire. 

You will not run your ground (black wire) to the battery. Instead, find the nearest metal part of the vehicle’s frame or chassis ground. Make sure that this is a good ground connection.
