The main difference between the two radios is the SR-955HPC has SSB whereas the SR-655HPC does not. Another bonus of the SR-955 is that it covers 10 & 12 meters.
If it were me, I would purchase the SR-955HPC, the SSB capabilities alone make it a huge bonus.
