If the faceplate or a ticket says “655,” it is an SR-655HPC family radio. The case versions match the 955: Version 1, Version 2, or HPC+ (often called “V3”). Use the 655 programming file for that generation — not a 955 installer.

The three 655 generations

Quick check: no vents = V1. Full size with vents = V2. Short case with vents = HPC+.
655 vs 955
The chassis can look the same. The SR-955HPC has SSB and covers 10 and 12 meters. The SR-655HPC does not. Difference between the SR-655HPC and SR-955HPC.
Do not load 955 software or a 955 .Dat file into a 655.
USB cable
The 655 uses the same special Stryker USB cable as the 955 and 447HPC2. Many 655 boxes do not include that cable. USB cable for SR-655 / SR-955 / SR-447HPC2.
Windows driver: same as the 955. Start at Programming the SR-655HPC — pick your model and Windows version for Win11 / Win10 / 3.2.0.0, then use the 655 software file for your chassis.
