SR-655HP shuts itself off when you key it

Question

SR-655HP that shuts it's self off when you key it. It does show an SWR of 10 .. I have changed the antenna and the radio does the same thing.

Solution

Try to check your SWR with an external meter, you can even a cheap $12 meter. That way we can be certain if it's your antenna system or the radio that has a problem.
